Drug-Induced Evaluation Technical Services


I. Services Overview


Drug induction refers to the process by which pharmaceuticals activate nuclear receptors (e.g., PXR, CAR, AHR), upregulating the transcription of downstream target genes and enhancing the activity of drug-metabolizing enzymes (e.g., CYP450). This mechanism can accelerate the metabolism of the drug itself or co-administered drugs, potentially compromising therapeutic efficacy and safety. Drug induction evaluation is a critical component of drug development, assessing risks of drug-drug interactions (DDI) and informing metabolic/toxicological studies.

Primary Hepatocyte Model

Primary hepatocytes serve as the "gold standard" for in vitro drug metabolism research, closely replicating hepatic metabolic functions. They are widely used for:

  • Drug induction profiling

  • Toxicological studies

  • DDI risk assessment
